After 14 years of marriage, a 160-kg woman successfully gives birth to a healthy baby

In a remarkable turn of events, Simmora Dsouza, a 33-year-old woman from Mumbai, gave birth to a healthy 3.2 kg baby after 14 years of marriage. This extraordinary feat was achieved despite Dsouza’s history of hypothyroidism, menstrual irregularities, and morbid obesity, which had previously hindered her ability to conceive.

Having undergone bariatric surgery to address her weight issues, Dsouza’s successful pregnancy and delivery were made possible by the expertise of Dr. Mangala Patil, a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist at Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira Road. The cesarean section delivery marked a significant milestone for Dsouza and her husband after years of challenges and setbacks.
