Ahmedabad News: Gary Kirsten stresses importance of strong performance in final three IPL matches

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Gujarat Titans’ batting coach and mentor Gary Kirsten expressed his desire for a more balanced contest between bat and ball in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as the tournament has seen a flurry of high-scoring matches.

Speaking ahead of their clash against Chennai Super Kings, Kirsten emphasized the importance of maintaining an even playing field between the two aspects of the game. “If it becomes uneven, I would like that to be addressed as best as it can be. Whatever decision is made, it needs to be an even contest between bat and ball and maybe it hasn’t been so much in this IPL,” he said.

With Kirsten set to join the Pakistani camp after the conclusion of his stint with Titans this season, he highlighted the need for his team to finish the remaining league matches on a high note. “We need to have a good last three games. I think it’s been one of those seasons where we haven’t quite got going,” he stated.

Reflecting on the team’s performance, Kirsten acknowledged the lack of consistency in certain aspects of their game and stressed the importance of playing solid cricket in all departments. He expressed hope that the players would step up and deliver match-winning performances in the upcoming matches.

As the Titans aim to salvage their season and end on a positive note, Kirsten’s guidance and expertise will be crucial in helping the team bounce back and finish strong in the IPL.
