Mumbai City FC emerged victorious in the Indian Super League (ISL) final, impressing All India Football Federation President Kalyan Chaubey with their technical prowess. The match, held at the Salt Lake Stadium, saw Mumbai City FC defeat Mohun Bagan Super Giant with a convincing 3-1 scoreline.

Chaubey commended both teams for their mature approach to the game, noting their focus on keeping the ball grounded and under control. Mumbai City FC showcased their skills in the second half, scoring three goals through Jorge Pereyra Diaz, Bipin Singh, and Jakub Vojtus, after Jason Cummings opened the scoring for Mohun Bagan.

This victory marked the second time Mumbai City FC triumphed over Mohun Bagan in the ISL final, with the previous win coming in the 2020-21 season. Chaubey, a former goalkeeper for Mohun Bagan and Mumbai FC, was present at the match to hand out medals and awards during the post-match ceremony.

While acknowledging the disappointment felt by West Bengal fans, Chaubey expressed his satisfaction with the successful conclusion of the tournament. He praised Mumbai City FC for their exceptional performance and congratulated them on their well-deserved victory.

Reflecting on the match, Chaubey highlighted Mohun Bagan’s missed opportunities and lack of attacking intensity after conceding the opening goal. Despite the defensive tactics employed by both teams initially, Mumbai City FC’s strategic gameplay ultimately secured them the ISL trophy.
