Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport celebrated the launch of a new nonstop flight connecting the Valley of the Sun to the City of Lights. The inaugural Air France flight from Paris arrived last Thursday to much fanfare, with aviation enthusiasts gathering to witness the historic moment.

The Air France Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner will operate three times a week, offering a range of seating options including Business, Premium Economy, and Economy. This new route marks a strategic investment for both Phoenix and Air France, with Phoenix Vice Mayor Deb Stark highlighting the economic benefits of the partnership.

French businesses have already recognized Arizona’s potential, with over 80 French companies established in the region across various sectors. The new nonstop service is expected to generate an annual economic impact of approximately $69 million, showcasing Phoenix’s position as a key player in international business and tourism.

Air France’s choice of the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner for this route demonstrates the airline’s commitment to sustainability, with the aircraft known for its reduced carbon footprint and quieter operations. The airline’s vice president of commercial North America, Boaz Hulsman, emphasized the environmental benefits of the Dreamliner compared to other planes of similar size.

The introduction of this new route not only improves tourism but also strengthens economic connections between Arizona and France. With direct access to Air France’s extensive network of 180 destinations worldwide, Phoenix is poised to see increased business exchanges and investment opportunities. The high demand for the inaugural flight, which had a 97% load factor, indicates a promising start for the route’s success.
