Air India Cancels Flights to and from UAE Amid Heavy Rains and Floods

In the wake of heavy rains and floods in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Air India has announced the cancellation of its flights to and from Dubai on Friday. The decision comes as the operational disruptions at Dubai Airport continue to pose challenges for airlines.

The airline has assured affected passengers that they will be accommodated on alternate flights once operations resume. Passengers who have booked tickets until April 21 will be given a one-time waiver for rescheduling and full refunds for cancellations.

The Indian embassy in Dubai had earlier issued an advisory for Indian travelers, urging them to reschedule their travel plans until the situation normalizes. The airport in Dubai has also limited the number of incoming flights due to the adverse weather conditions in the country.

The Consulate General of India in Dubai has been actively working with UAE authorities and airlines to assist stranded Indian passengers. Relief measures have been extended to Indians in distress, in collaboration with community groups.

The cancellation of flights by Air India underscores the severity of the situation in the UAE, where heavy rains have led to a flood-like scenario in Dubai and other parts of the country. The airline’s decision reflects the commitment to passenger safety and well-being amidst challenging circumstances.
