Aishwary Pratap Dominates Men’s Rifle Three-Position at Olympic Selection Trials, Manu Bhaker Prevails Over Esha Singh in Air Pistol Event

Olympian Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar continues to dominate the men’s rifle 3-position event, securing the top spot with a score of 591 in the fourth Olympic shooting trials at the Madhya Pradesh Academy. After a shaky start in the first trial in Delhi, where he scored 576, Aishwary bounced back with impressive scores of 595 and 590 in the last two trials, solidifying his spot for the Games.

Meanwhile, Olympic quota winner Swapnil Kussale struggled with the lowest total of 573 in this trial but had previously secured his quota for Paris with scores of 592, 587, and 587. He managed to retain his quota ahead of other top shooters like Akhil Sheoran, Chain Singh, and Niraj Kumar.

In the women’s rifle 3-position event, Asian Games gold medallist and world record holder Sift Kaur Samra secured her spot with a score of 593, while Olympian Anjum Moudgil shot 588 to claim the second Olympic berth. The competition was fierce, with Ashi Chouksey, Shriyanka Sadangi, and Nischal also vying for a spot.

In other events, Manu Bhaker showcased her skills by winning the women’s air pistol event, while Naveen impressed in the men’s air pistol event with a score of 246.8, beating Sarabjot Singh to the top spot. Ramita Jindal topped the women’s air rifle event, edging out Olympian Elavenil Valarivan.

Overall, the competition was intense, with shooters giving their all to secure a spot for the upcoming Games in Paris.
