Akshay Kumar Praises Sonakshi Sinha for Her Performance in ‘Heeramandi’
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s latest offering, ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar,’ has been receiving rave reviews from both critics and audiences since its release on OTT platforms. The series, set against the backdrop of the Indian freedom struggle of the 1940s, promises to be an epic saga of love, power, revenge, and freedom.
After watching the series, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar took to Instagram to express his admiration for the show and its cast. He shared the poster of ‘Heeramandi’ and wrote, “Watching #Heeramandi, such a grand spectacle!” Akshay also specifically praised Sonakshi Sinha for her performance in the series, saying, “Great going @aslisona @bhansaliproductions.”
The star-studded cast of ‘Heeramandi’ includes Manisha Koirala, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sharmin Segal, Taha Shah Badussha, Shekhar Suman, and Adhyayan Suman. The series delves deep into the cultural reality of Heeramandi through the stories of courtesans and their patrons.
On the work front, Akshay Kumar was last seen in ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan,’ directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. The movie, which hit theaters on April 10, 2024, featured an ensemble cast including Prithviraj Sukumaran, Sonakshi Sinha, Manushi Chhillar, and Alaya F. Akshay also has ‘Welcome To The Jungle’ and ‘Sarfira’ lined up for release, along with ‘Khel Khel Mein’ directed by Sudha Kongara.
