Akshay Kumar Set to Make Telugu Debut in ‘Kannappa’ Alongside Vishnu Manchu and Prabhas

Akshay Kumar, the renowned Bollywood actor, is all set to make his Telugu debut with the upcoming film ‘Kannappa’. The news was confirmed by Vishnu Manchu, who took to Instagram to share the exciting announcement. In a video shared by Vishnu, Akshay Kumar can be seen being greeted by Vishnu and veteran actor Mohan Babu. Mohan Babu even presented Akshay with a shawl as a token of appreciation, marking the beginning of a new journey for the superstar in the Telugu film industry.

Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, ‘Kannappa’ is inspired by the story of Kannappa, a devout follower of Lord Shiva. The film boasts an ensemble cast including Mohan Babu, Mohanlal, Prabhas, Sarath Kumar, and Brahmanandam in key roles. Vishnu Manchu, who plays the titular character in the film, also wrote the screenplay based on a story developed by a team of writers.

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar is currently busy with the promotions of his latest Bollywood release ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’, where he stars alongside Tiger Shroff. The movie, described as a “Bad Boys-like film” by Akshay, features an ensemble cast including Prithviraj Sukumaran, Sonakshi Sinha, Manushi Chhillar, and Alaya F in significant roles.

‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ hit the cinemas on April 10, 2024, facing a box office clash with Ajay Devgn’s ‘Maidaan’.
