Alan Ritchson, known for his role in Prime Video’s “Reacher,” has bravely come forward with his traumatic experiences of sexual assault during his time as a model. In a candid interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the 41-year-old actor revealed that he was assaulted by a prominent photographer, shedding light on the dark realities of the industry.

Ritchson recounted a disturbing incident where he was coerced into a nude photoshoot under the false pretense of lucrative campaigns, only to be sexually assaulted. Despite the trauma he endured, his agency showed little support, leading him to ultimately leave the modeling world.

Describing the modeling industry as “legalized sex trafficking,” Ritchson highlighted the lack of regulation and exploitation that often occurs. He also shared a troubling encounter with fashion photographer Mario Testino, alleging inappropriate behavior and harassment.

Ritchson’s decision to speak out comes in the wake of previous accusations against Testino and Bruce Webber, further exposing the pervasive culture of abuse within the industry. Inspired by the bravery of other survivors in the #MeToo movement, Ritchson felt compelled to share his story.

In addition to his modeling ordeal, Ritchson also opened up about personal struggles as an actor, including a shoulder injury on the set of “Reacher” that led to hormone imbalance and testosterone treatment. Despite the stigma surrounding such treatments, Ritchson emphasized their importance in maintaining his health and well-being.

Ritchson’s courage in speaking out about his experiences serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of addressing and confronting issues of sexual assault in all industries.
