Dubai South and Aldar Properties to Develop State-of-the-Art Logistics Facility for Kuehne+Nagel at EZDubai

Dubai South, the largest single urban master development focusing on aviation, logistics, and real estate, has partnered with Aldar Properties to develop a build-to-suit facility for Kuehne+Nagel, one of the world’s leading logistics providers, at EZDubai, the fully dedicated e-commerce hub in Dubai South.

The new logistics facility, located in close proximity to Al Maktoum International Airport and Jebel Ali port, is part of a joint venture between Dubai South and Aldar to develop Grade A logistics facilities at Dubai South’s Logistics District. Spanning 22,915 square meters, the facility will provide third-party logistics, e-commerce, and goods handling services, with office space, warehousing capabilities, and an amenities block.

Designed to attain a LEED Silver certification, the facility incorporates efficient design and energy-saving elements. The building’s flooring features an innovative system utilizing high-performance steel fibers, including those sourced from repurposed end-of-life tire wire and cord, ensuring strength and a reduced carbon footprint.

The agreement was signed at Dubai South headquarters in the presence of key executives from Dubai South, Aldar Properties, and Kuehne+Nagel. Mohsen Ahmad, CEO of Logistics District, Dubai South, expressed his pleasure in signing the agreement, highlighting the state-of-the-art infrastructure and customized services that will benefit Kuehne+Nagel in expanding their presence and meeting the demand for logistics services regionally.

Jonathan Emery, CEO of Aldar Development, emphasized the promising opportunity the logistics sector represents for Aldar, noting the accelerated progress made in collaboration with Dubai South. He mentioned the commitment to investing in scalable logistics facilities to meet the growing demand from global firms like Kuehne+Nagel.

Lee I’Ons, GCC+ Managing Director at Kuehne+Nagel, highlighted the importance of the strategic location of EZDubai and the strong development capabilities of Aldar in facilitating their expansion. The new fulfillment center will strengthen their successful cooperation with Dubai South and Aldar.

Dubai South’s Logistics District offers premier services and operations, with uninterrupted access to Jebel Ali Port via a bonded logistics corridor. The district comprises multiple zones, including EZDubai, a fully dedicated e-commerce free zone, and a Contract Logistics Zone, providing direct access to cargo terminals at Al Maktoum International Airport.

The development of this state-of-the-art logistics facility at EZDubai signifies the commitment of Dubai South, Aldar Properties, and Kuehne+Nagel to driving innovation and growth in the logistics sector, further solidifying Dubai’s position as a top logistics hub in the world. The facility is expected to be handed over to Kuehne+Nagel by Q2 2025, marking a significant milestone in the partnership between these industry leaders.
