Alex Sarr Shares His Childhood Favorite NBA Team

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The upcoming NBA Draft class may not be as star-studded as in previous years, but there is one player who is generating a lot of buzz – Alexandre Sarr. The 7-foot-1 center, originally from France, is expected to be the No. 1 overall pick in this year’s draft after an impressive season in Australia’s National Basketball League (NBL).

In a recent interview on “Podcast P with Paul George,” Sarr revealed that his favorite team growing up was the Oklahoma City Thunder, particularly during the Kevin Durant era. Durant, who spent the first nine seasons of his career with the Thunder before joining the Golden State Warriors, was a major influence on Sarr’s basketball fandom.

Sarr’s journey to the NBA has been a unique one, starting with two seasons in the Overtime Elite league in the United States before heading to Australia to play for the Perth Wildcats. Known for his shot-blocking and rim protection skills, Sarr is poised to make an impact on whichever team selects him in the draft.

With the Atlanta Hawks holding the No. 1 overall pick, there is speculation that they could benefit from Sarr’s defensive prowess. As the draft approaches, all eyes will be on Sarr as he prepares to take the next step in his basketball career and fulfill his potential as a rising star in the NBA.
