Alexandria Boys Tennis Team Divides Wins in Triangular Match at Elk River – Alexandria Echo Press

The Alexandria boys tennis team had a mixed day at a triangular in Elk River, showcasing their skills with a 7-0 victory over Centennial but falling short with a 6-1 loss to Elk River.

Niklas Cook emerged as a standout player for the Cardinals, securing a win at No. 4 singles against Elk River with impressive 7-5 and 6-2 victories. Cook also displayed his talent in the match against Centennial, claiming a win at No. 2 singles with scores of 6-2 and 6-1.

The rest of the team also put up a strong performance, with Cole Haabala, Brett Thornburg, and Donovan Rousu securing wins in their respective singles matches against Centennial. The doubles pairs of Owen Gilbertson/Owen Godfrey, Lucas Fernholz/Charlie Johnston, and Bennett Teaser/Nathan Cook also dominated their matches, contributing to the team’s overall success against Centennial.

Despite the loss to Elk River, Niklas Cook once again stood out with a win at No. 4 singles. The team put up a valiant effort but ultimately fell short against a tough Elk River squad.
