Cleveland Guardians Dominate Seattle Mariners in 8-0 Victory

In a commanding performance, the Cleveland Guardians shut out the Seattle Mariners with an 8-0 win on Wednesday. Starting pitcher Logan Allen led the way, allowing only four hits over 6 2/3 innings while striking out six and walking three.

The Guardians’ offense was firing on all cylinders, with Steven Kwan leading the charge with three hits and three runs scored in his first three at-bats. José Ramírez also had a strong showing, hitting two doubles and driving in two runs. Josh Naylor contributed three RBIs without getting a hit, a rare feat in Guardians history.

Seattle’s starter, George Kirby, struggled against Cleveland’s potent lineup, giving up a career-high eight earned runs. The Mariners’ defense didn’t provide much help, with missed plays and errors giving the Guardians extra opportunities to score.

Cleveland manager Stephen Vogt praised his team’s hitting and game plan, emphasizing their ability to capitalize on mistakes. The Guardians have now won their second straight series, continuing their hot start to the season.

Despite the loss, Seattle manager Scott Servais acknowledged the Guardians’ aggressive approach at the plate and the defensive lapses that cost his team. Concerns about Seattle’s defense have been a recurring issue early in the season.

Looking ahead, Cleveland will face the Minnesota Twins in a three-game series, while Seattle will travel to Milwaukee to take on the Brewers. The Guardians will aim to carry their momentum into the next series, while the Mariners will look to tighten up their defense and bounce back from the tough loss.
