Amanda Knox pledges to ‘defend the truth’

Amanda Knox, the American exchange student who was at the center of a high-profile murder case in Italy, is once again making headlines. Knox, who was acquitted of the murder of her housemate Meredith Kercher in 2015, has now been found guilty of slander in a Florence appeals court.

In a recent interview with Italian TV channel Sky TG24, Knox expressed her surprise and disappointment at the court’s decision. She emphasized her determination to fight for the truth, stating, “It’s been 17 years that I have been unjustly accused.”

The case dates back to 2007 when Knox, then 20 years old, and her Italian boyfriend were accused of murdering Kercher in the town of Perugia. She described the interrogation as a traumatic experience, stating, “I was abused, mistreated, psychologically tortured by police that night. It was the worst experience of my life.”
