Amazon Introduces New Grocery Subscription Service for Prime Members and EBT Users

Amazon is shaking up the grocery delivery game once again with its new subscription service that promises to make things a little cheaper for Whole Foods and Amazon Fresh fans. U.S.-based Amazon Prime members can now access a $10 grocery subscription that offers free deliveries on orders from Amazon Fresh, Whole Foods Market, and even local grocery stores for orders above $35.

The subscription also covers specialty stores like Rite Aid and Pet Food Express, with deliveries potentially arriving within an hour at no extra cost depending on the area. This new service aims to help Prime members save money by eliminating delivery fees that would typically apply to their grocery orders.

Amazon is touting the subscription as a cost-effective option, claiming that it “pays for itself after just one delivery order per month from Whole Foods Market, or one delivery order per month from Amazon Fresh for under $50.” Additionally, members can enjoy 30-minute pickup times on orders, priority access to recurring grocery orders, and a free 30-day trial of the service.

Non-Prime members with an EBT card can also access the subscription for $5 per month without needing to pay for a Prime membership. Amazon has been testing out the grocery delivery subscription in select areas since last year, but as of Tuesday, the service is now available in 3,500 cities and towns throughout the U.S. This new offering is sure to entice food lovers who want the convenience of grocery delivery without breaking the bank.
