At AWS re:Invent 2023, Amazon previewed Amazon Q Business, a generative artificial intelligence-powered assistant designed to enhance productivity and efficiency within organizations. This AI assistant can answer questions, provide summaries, generate content, and complete tasks securely based on data from enterprise systems.

After receiving valuable customer feedback during the preview, Amazon has announced the general availability of Amazon Q Business with new features, including custom plugins and a preview of Amazon Q Apps. These new features aim to empower users to be more creative, data-driven, and productive within their organizations.

Amazon Q Business seamlessly connects to over 40 enterprise data sources, ensuring secure access to content with existing credentials and enterprise-level access controls. Users can easily ask questions, receive responses, and engage in dialogues with the web-based chat assistant, which can search, summarize, and analyze data from various sources.

With the introduction of Amazon Q Apps, users can now create generative AI-powered applications based on company data without any prior coding experience. These apps can be easily shared within the organization, enhancing productivity and collaboration.

Amazon Q Business also offers enhanced security features, including admin controls, guardrails, and the integration of various AWS services for secure data storage and access. Users can now securely connect their workforce to Amazon Q Business applications using AWS IAM Identity Center for user identity management.

Overall, Amazon Q Business aims to revolutionize the way organizations access and utilize data, empowering users to make informed decisions and drive productivity. The general availability of Amazon Q Business is now live in the US East and US West regions, with two pricing subscription options available for users to choose from.
