Amazon Welcomes Top Class Franchise’s Expansion into Tennis

Amazon is diving deeper into the world of tennis with a new series executive produced by tennis star Sloane Stephens and NBA legend LeBron James. The series, titled “Top Class Tennis,” will follow four junior tennis players as they compete in the prestigious Orange Bowl tournament, a pivotal moment in their careers as they strive to become professional tennis players.

The four-episode series is part of Amazon’s “Top Class” franchise, which explores the world of junior sports. Produced by Uninterrupted and LeBron James and Maverick Carter’s SpringHill Co., the series will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the intense and competitive world of junior tennis.

Sloane Stephens, who won the U.S. Open in 2017, is excited to be part of the project as an executive producer. She joins a team that includes Jamal Henderson, Philip Byron, Wendy Goldberg, and showrunner Nikki Spetseris.

Byron, the head of unscripted and documentaries at SpringHill, expressed his enthusiasm for expanding the “Top Class” franchise and working with Amazon Prime Video. The series aims to give audiences a close-up view of the challenges and triumphs of young tennis players as they navigate the competitive world of junior tennis.

“Top Class Tennis” is just the latest project from SpringHill’s Uninterrupted banner, which focuses on giving athletes a platform to share their stories. With the success of previous sports-related documentaries, Amazon is looking to continue its push into sports-adjacent programming with this new series.
