Ambati Rayudu Denies Blaming MS Dhoni for CSK Losses

Ruturaj Gaikwad’s captaincy debut in the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been a rollercoaster ride, with highs and lows. Gaikwad, who took over the captaincy from the legendary MS Dhoni at the start of the IPL 2024 season, led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to four wins in his first eight games in charge. However, recent defeats to Lucknow Super Giants have put Gaikwad under scrutiny.

Following CSK’s loss to Lucknow Super Giants, former CSK player Ambati Rayudu was reportedly quoted criticizing Gaikwad’s captaincy and field placements. Rayudu allegedly mentioned poor field placements in the death overs by Gaikwad, citing a lack of experience as captain. Additionally, former Indian cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu suggested that if Dhoni is credited for CSK’s wins, he should also face criticism for their losses.

However, Rayudu has vehemently denied making any such comments. Taking to social media, Rayudu clarified that he was not even commentating on the day in question, as he was busy picking mangoes on his farm. He urged the publication to be responsible and not spread false information.

Despite the recent setbacks, CSK will look to bounce back in their upcoming match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. With the team currently sitting in fifth place, the pressure is on Gaikwad to turn things around and secure a spot in the playoffs. The controversy surrounding Rayudu’s alleged comments adds an extra layer of drama to CSK’s season as they aim to regain their winning form.
