American Lending Center Financing Supports Construction of Rural Missouri Hospital

The Harrison County Community Hospital District in Bethany, Missouri, is set to undergo a major transformation with the launch of a $75 million construction project. The project, which broke ground on April 4, 2024, is expected to take two years to complete and will replace the existing 1955 hospital that no longer meets current code requirements.

Tina Gillespie, CEO of the Harrison County Community Hospital District, expressed her excitement about the project, stating that it marks the beginning of a new chapter for both the hospital and the community. The new facility will span 83,493 square feet and include 14 surgical medical beds, an expanded Emergency Department, and a behavioral health exam room. Additionally, the site will accommodate outpatient services and allow for future expansion.

The project is made possible in part by American Lending Center (ALC), which is providing $10.4 million to complete the hospital’s construction loan. The hospital project qualifies for the federal EB-5 program, which aims to create jobs in rural areas. In this case, the construction of the new hospital is expected to create 453 construction jobs.

Scott Thompson, Vice President and Chief Lending Officer at ALC, emphasized the importance of bringing well-paying jobs to rural areas through the EB-5 program. He believes that the new hospital will have a lasting impact on the community and improve the lives of many residents.

Construction is slated to be completed by mid-2026, with the new hospital expected to open its doors to the public. The project represents a significant investment in rural healthcare and underscores ALC’s commitment to supporting communities in need.
