Amman Launches Digital Economy Forum for Investment in Business

The “Invest in Digital Economy” forum kicked off in Amman on Sunday, organized by the Jordan Chamber of Commerce and the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD). Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Ahmed Hanandeh inaugurated the event on behalf of His Majesty King Abdullah II, with the aim of advancing the digital economy in Jordan and other member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

The forum has brought together government representatives, experts, researchers, international bodies, business figures, and small investors specializing in modern technology. Over the next two days, the event will focus on promoting the development of the digital economy in Jordan and the Islamic world, highlighting key investment characteristics and components to empower entrepreneurs and small businesses.

Hanandeh highlighted King Abdullah II’s vision for a competitive investment environment, particularly in the digital economy and entrepreneurship sectors. He emphasized the importance of enhancing digital investment opportunities, sharing best practices, and fostering international cooperation for economic development and innovation.

The forum features seminars on stimulating digital economy investments, the role of chambers of commerce, private sector success stories, and challenges faced by emerging companies. Additionally, a digital economy competition will be held to support entrepreneurship and emerging companies in OIC countries, with a jury of experts selecting the winning projects.

The event aims to showcase Jordan’s investment potential and create a favorable investment climate through effective public-private partnerships, in line with the global importance of the digital economy for sustainable development and job creation.
