Banner Health, a prominent healthcare system based in Phoenix, has announced Amy Perry as its new CEO, succeeding Peter S. Fine upon his retirement on June 30. Perry, currently serving as Banner’s president, will take on the dual role of CEO and president as Fine transitions into the role of CEO Emeritus until January 2025.

Perry joined Banner in November 2021 as president and chief operating officer, where she played a pivotal role in guiding the organization through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent recovery efforts. With a wealth of experience in healthcare leadership, Perry previously held executive positions at Atlantic Health System, LifeBridge Health, and Mount Sinai Health System.

Fine, who has been at the helm of Banner since 2000, is credited with transforming the organization from a hospital system into a fully integrated healthcare enterprise. Under his leadership, Banner has grown to encompass 30 acute-care hospitals across six states.

In a statement following the announcement, Perry expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead Banner Health and emphasized the organization’s commitment to advancing healthcare access and affordability. She highlighted Banner’s focus on technology, innovation, and a culture of collaboration to deliver high-quality care to the communities it serves.

Banner Health, a nonprofit healthcare system with a mission-driven approach, is known for its dedication to providing exceptional care across its network of hospitals. The appointment of Amy Perry as CEO signals a new chapter for the organization as it continues to prioritize the health and well-being of its patients and communities.
