Analyzing the possibilities for securing second place in IPL 2024

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The race for the second-place finish in the 2024 Indian Premier League is heating up as the league stage nears its end. With Kolkata Knight Riders already securing the top spot, Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Chennai Super Kings are battling it out for the coveted second position.

Currently, Rajasthan Royals are in second place with eight wins and 16 points, followed closely by Sunrisers Hyderabad with seven wins and 15 points. Chennai Super Kings are in fourth place with seven wins and 14 points.

For Rajasthan Royals to secure the second-place finish, they need to win their last league game against KKR on May 19. A win will guarantee them the spot, but a loss would require both SRH and CSK to also lose their final matches.

Sunrisers Hyderabad, on the other hand, need to win their last game against Punjab Kings and hope that KKR defeats RR to have a chance at the second spot.

Chennai Super Kings have a tougher road ahead as they not only need to win their last game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru but also rely on other results to go their way.

The battle for the second-place finish is intense, with each team fighting for a chance to secure a spot in the Qualifier 1 and get a shot at making it to the final. Fans are eagerly watching as the drama unfolds in the final games of the league stage.
