Reading Time: < 1 minute

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have secured their spot in the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) final after a convincing victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Ahmedabad. The Knight Riders successfully chased down a target of 160 runs after bowling SRH out in Qualifier 1. Venkatesh Iyer and Shreyas Iyer led the charge, completing the run-chase in just 13.4 overs.

This will be KKR’s fourth appearance in an IPL final, having previously won the title in 2012 and 2014. The team’s impressive performance in the current season has seen them top the points table and secure a spot in the final.

Looking at the sides with the most appearances in IPL finals, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) lead the pack with a remarkable 10 final appearances. CSK has been one of the most successful teams in the IPL, winning the title five times in 2010, 2011, 2018, 2021, and 2023 under the leadership of Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Following CSK, Mumbai Indians (MI) have made it to the final six times, winning the title on five occasions. MI’s victories came in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020, with Rohit Sharma leading the team to success.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have reached the final three times but are yet to lift the IPL trophy. Despite their strong performances, RCB has been unable to clinch the title, finishing as runners-up in 2009, 2011, and 2016.

As the IPL final approaches, fans are eagerly anticipating an exciting clash between KKR and their opponents as they vie for the prestigious title.
