Exciting news for sports enthusiasts in Hove as tennis and padel courts are set to open on the seafront by early summer. The courts will be located near Rockwater as part of the Kingsway to the Sea project, with Game4Padel, the UK’s leading padel company, operating the facility.

The new Hove Beach Park, created through the Kingsway to the Sea project, will feature six tennis courts and four padel courts. Padel, a mix between tennis and squash played within an enclosed court, is gaining popularity and will provide a unique sporting experience for residents and visitors alike.

Councillor Julie Cattell, lead member for major projects, expressed excitement about the addition of tennis and padel to the park’s sports offerings, which already include bowls, croquet, a new skatepark, pump track, and roller area. Game4Padel, with tennis stars like Andy and Jamie Murray, Annabel Croft, and Andrew Castle as investors and ambassadors, is committed to building vibrant communities around their venues.

Game4Padel CEO Michael Gradon highlighted the company’s focus on inclusivity, ensuring that padel and tennis are accessible to all. The park’s funding, mostly from the government’s Levelling Up Fund, reflects a commitment to enhancing community spaces and promoting active lifestyles.

With the upcoming opening of the covered padel courts at Withdean Sports Complex and the new courts at Hove Beach Park, residents can look forward to a summer filled with exciting sporting opportunities right on their doorstep.
