Reading Time: < 1 minute

The 2024 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards is set to make history with its unique choice of hosts. Instead of having celebrity hosts, the network has announced that two beloved animated characters, SpongeBob Squarepants and Patrick Star, will be hosting the entire show. Voiced by Tom Kenny and Bill Fagerbakke respectively, the iconic characters from the hit series “SpongeBob SquarePants” will be taking over the hosting duties.

In celebration of the show’s 25th year on Nickelodeon, the KCAs will be set in Bikini Bottom, the underwater world where SpongeBob and his friends reside. The broadcast will feature enhanced graphics and advanced augmented reality, creating an animated setting for the event. The show is scheduled to air on July 13 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on TeenNick, Nicktoon, and Nick Jr.

Both Tom Kenny and Bill Fagerbakke expressed their excitement about hosting the show as their respective characters. They shared their gratitude for being part of the beloved series and the joy it has brought to fans of all ages over the years.

This marks the first time that animated characters will be hosting a live broadcast of this scale. However, SpongeBob and Patrick have previously co-hosted Nickelodeon’s telecast of the Super Bowl, showcasing their popularity and appeal to audiences of all ages. With the unique hosting choice and the charm of SpongeBob and Patrick, the 2024 Kids Choice Awards is sure to be a memorable and entertaining event for viewers worldwide.
