Anna Ribbeck of Swamp People Embraces a One-of-a-Kind Lifestyle

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Anna Ribbeck, the young and ambitious star of the hit reality series “Swamp People,” is making waves in the world of alligator hunting. At just 30 years old, Anna is a newcomer to the hunting scene but is already revolutionizing the way people think about this dangerous and demanding profession.

Born and raised in south Louisiana, Anna grew up playing basketball, ditch fishing, and eating crawfish. However, it wasn’t until her early twenties that she was introduced to hunting and archery. Despite her late start, Anna has quickly become a skilled hunter and forager, living off the land and sharing her unique lifestyle with her fans on social media.

After graduating from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Horticultural Science, Anna found her passion for archery through local 3D tournaments. She even worked at the Bear Archery Factory in Gainesville, Florida, before returning to Louisiana to pursue her love of gator hunting.

While gator hunting started as a hobby for Anna, it quickly became a significant part of her life. A friend connected her with the producers of “Swamp People,” and she joined the cast in Season 14. Despite her short tenure on the show, Anna has become a fan favorite for her fearless approach to hunting and her dedication to living off the grid.

But gator hunting isn’t Anna’s only passion. In addition to her work on the show, she also works as an assistant communications specialist for LSU AgCenter, where she helps curate their social media and brand marketing. She even completed her Master of Science in Plant, Environmental, and Soil Studies in 2023, showcasing her dedication to both her career and her education.

On a personal note, Anna is in a relationship with fellow hunter Ry Smith. While Ry doesn’t appear on the show, Anna frequently mentions him on social media, calling him her “permanent arrow caddy.” The couple recently shared an adventure hunting together in February 2024, indicating that their relationship is still going strong.

With her unique background in horticulture, archery, and gator hunting, Anna Ribbeck is a force to be reckoned with in the world of Swamp People. Her determination, passion, and dedication to living off the land have set her apart from the rest of the cast, making her a standout star on the hit reality series.

As Anna continues to make waves in the world of alligator hunting, fans can’t wait to see what she does next. Whether she’s foraging in the swamps, competing in archery tournaments, or hunting gators with her boyfriend, Anna Ribbeck is proving that she’s not your average Swamp Person.
