In an interview with V Magazine, the actress recalled feeling uncomfortable and pressured to participate in the audition process, even though she wasn’t excited about it.

Hathaway explained that she was told she was already cast in the role and was expected to make out with all ten guys during the audition. Feeling uneasy about the situation, she pretended to be excited and went along with it to avoid being labeled as difficult.

“The Idea of You,” based on the novel by Robinne Lee, follows the story of a 40-year-old single mom who falls for a 24-year-old international pop star.
