Four Denison University men’s swimming & diving team members have been recognized for their outstanding achievements both in the pool and in the classroom. Gavin Jones, Christian McIntire, Tyler Distenfeld, and Max Soja have all been selected for the 2023-24 Academic All-District® Team by College Sports Communicators.
Gavin Jones, a junior from Bellingham, Washington, has an impressive 3.98 GPA as an economics and communication double major. He is a five-time NCAA Division III All-American and has excelled in various events at the national level. Jones is also actively involved in campus organizations and has received numerous academic accolades.
Christian McIntire, a junior from Nashville, Tennessee, boasts a 3.57 GPA in data analytics. McIntire has made significant contributions to the team, winning the NCAC championship in the 500 freestyle and earning Second-Team All-American honors at the NCAA National Championships.
Tyler Distenfeld, a junior from Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, holds a 3.87 GPA in biology. He is a six-time All-NCAC performer and has achieved success both at the conference and national levels. Distenfeld is also involved in various campus activities and research projects.
Max Soja, a junior from Flemington, New Jersey, has a 3.78 GPA in Health, exercise, and sport studies. Soja is a three-time NCAA Division III All-American and is dedicated to giving back to his community through a program aimed at teaching life-saving swim skills.
