Seton Hall University’s Center of Innovation and Entrepreneurship hosted its 14th annual Pirates Pitch Startup Competition on Wednesday, April 3, showcasing the innovative spirit of its students. The event attracted a diverse audience of students, faculty, alumni, and community members, both in person and online.
Nathaniel Bikhman, a junior majoring in finance, emerged as the winner of the competition with his service AtendiVPN. This product stood out in the competitive VPN market for its focus on privacy and speed, utilizing self-wiping servers for enhanced security and efficiency. AtendiVPN targets privacy-conscious individuals, especially students and older adults vulnerable to cyber threats.
In second place was DocuForge, presented by a team of Stillman student entrepreneurs – Sid Kapoor, Cameron Lloyd, and Jerry Ford. Their AI-powered platform simplifies the creation of Product Requirement Documents, bridging the gap between non-technical founders and software developers.
The third-place prize went to Katalyst, developed by Stillman seniors Michelle Lew and Miabella Espaillat. Katalyst offers a platform for finding internships and entry-level jobs, tailored for recent graduates and upper-class students.
The event featured welcoming remarks from Joyce Strawser, the dean of the Stillman School of Business, and was judged by notable alumni. Other finalists included NatureFill, Mirjam, and Refresh Me, each presenting innovative solutions in sustainable packaging, AI platforms for musicians, and personal wellness and hydration, respectively.
Overall, the competition highlighted the university’s dedication to fostering entrepreneurship and innovation among its students, providing them with opportunities for growth and development in the business world.
