Auburn Tennis Star Carolyn Ansari Earns Second Consecutive Singles All-American Honors
AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn’s standout tennis player, Carolyn Ansari, has once again been recognized for her exceptional talent on the court. The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced on Thursday that Ansari has been awarded singles All-American honors for the second consecutive season, making her the first Tiger to achieve this feat since Fani Chifchieva in 2007, 2008, and 2009.
Ansari’s impressive final season at Auburn included a 21-13 overall singles record and a total of 100 career singles victories, ranking her fourth in program history. She also notched 178 combined victories, placing her sixth in program history.
Playing at the top of the Tigers’ singles lineup, Ansari faced tough competition and emerged victorious, with notable wins over ranked opponents like No. 13 Lisa Zarr of Pepperdine and No. 17 Celia-Belle Mohr of Vanderbilt. One of her most memorable victories came against fourth-ranked Georgia, where she defeated Dasha Vidmanova in a dramatic three-set match to secure an upset team victory over the Bulldogs.
Ansari’s stellar performance throughout the season earned her an ITA singles ranking of eighth at the end of the fall season, with a career-high ranking of sixth on April 9. She finished the spring season ranked No. 14, the highest ranking for an Auburn player since Fani Chifchieva in 2008.
The criteria for ITA Singles All-American honors are stringent, requiring a top 16 seed in the NCAA Singles Championship, advancement to the round of 16 at the NCAA Championship, or a top 20 finish in the final ITA Singles Rankings. Ansari met these criteria in 2023 and once again in 2024, solidifying her status as one of the top collegiate tennis players in the country.
