Anthony Edwards Urges People to Stop Drawing Comparisons Between Him and NBA Legend

Reading Time: < 1 minute

In a stunning performance on Saturday night, Anthony Edwards led the Minnesota Timberwolves to a surprising Game 1 victory over the Denver Nuggets with a whopping 43 points. Edwards, who is having the best season of his career, is drawing comparisons to NBA legend Michael Jordan for his exceptional play.

However, Edwards himself is hoping to put an end to these comparisons. “I want it to stop. He’s the greatest of all time. I can’t be compared to him,” Edwards expressed in a recent statement.

Despite his wishes, many NBA insiders, writers, and analysts have likened Edwards to Jordan due to his style of play, physical attributes, and intensity on the court. In the first-round playoff series against the Phoenix Suns, Edwards continued to shine, averaging 31 points, 8 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game, leading the Timberwolves to their first playoff series win in 20 years.

As the top pick in the 2020 draft, Edwards has been under high expectations throughout his professional career. This season, he has not only met but exceeded those expectations, garnering praise and attention for his exceptional performance.

While facing tough opponents like the Nuggets, Edwards showed his potential as a future champion and drew comparisons to the former Bulls icon, whether he wanted them or not. With his standout play in the postseason, Edwards is poised to receive even more recognition in the weeks ahead.
