Anthropic launches new business chatbot to attract corporate funding | Technology News

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Anthropic, an artificial intelligence startup backed by tech giants Alphabet and Amazon.com, made waves in the industry with the launch of its latest chatbot technology aimed at businesses. The San Francisco-based firm introduced Claude 3, a family of AI models that it claims outperforms competitors like Microsoft-backed OpenAI and Google.

In a strategic move to capture corporate dollars, Anthropic released an app for Apple’s iPhones on Wednesday, offering Claude 3 to businesses for $30 per user per month. Companies can sign up for a plan with a minimum of 5 users, putting them in direct competition with OpenAI, which offers a similar plan at the same rate.

However, this new enterprise technology push from Anthropic could potentially create tension with its backers Google and Amazon, who are also vying for a share of the business spending on AI. The competition in the AI sector is heating up, with OpenAI’s CEO pitching their business offering to some of Microsoft’s biggest customers.

One of the standout features of Claude 3 is its ability to process large amounts of data, summarizing, analyzing, and extracting key information accurately. This capability makes it valuable for various business functions, such as finance teams generating investment reports, engineering teams working on codebases, or sales teams strategizing on landing major clients.

Anthropic’s president, Daniela Amodei, highlighted Claude’s strength in handling both structured and unstructured data, allowing users to upload diverse types of information and request summaries or key highlights. With its innovative technology and competitive pricing, Anthropic is poised to make a significant impact in the AI market.
