Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Austin Peay State University (APSU) baseball team is gearing up for an exciting matchup against in-state rival Middle Tennessee in a Tuesday night showdown at Reese Smith Jr. Field. This game marks the beginning of a four-game road trip for the Governors, who are coming off a series win against Jacksonville in the Atlantic Sun Conference.

APSU’s center fielder John Bay is on fire, boasting a .522 batting average during his current seven-game hit streak. First baseman/outfielder Harrison Brown is also on a tear, with a six-game hit streak and a .476 batting average with four home runs.

On the mound, right-hander Luke Rolland will make his third consecutive midweek start against the Blue Raiders. Despite allowing four runs in each of his previous starts, Rolland is looking to lead the Governors to victory.

The APSU Govs recently broke their single-season home run record, with Ambren Voitik’s three-run homer contributing to the team’s 85 home runs this season. Lyle Miller-Green, a standout player for APSU, has been named to the Golden Spikes Award Midseason Watch List for his impressive performance on the field.

With several players excelling in their positions and the team’s eyes set on the 100 home run mark, the Governors are poised for success in their upcoming games. Fans can stay updated on all APSU baseball news by following @GovsBSB on social media and visiting the official APSU Athletics website.
