Arabian Travel Market highlights increasing visitor numbers

Dubai’s swift recovery after floods has ensured a successful Arabian Travel Market with over 41,000 visitors.

Despite the recent floods that caused chaos in Dubai three weeks ago, the city’s efficient cleanup efforts have allowed the prestigious Arabian Travel Market (ATM) to proceed smoothly, attracting more than 41,000 visitors.

With over 2,300 exhibitors and representatives from 165 countries participating in the event under the theme “Empowering Innovation: Transforming Travel Through Entrepreneurship,” Dubai is showcasing its resilience and commitment to the tourism industry.

The UAE Minister of Economy, HE Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, kicked off the four-day event by highlighting the goal of transforming the Gulf Cooperation Council’s (GCC) tourism sector into a hub of innovation and sustainable growth. He emphasized the region’s remarkable recovery from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, with airports and hotels experiencing a surge in traffic and growth.

One of the key announcements made at the event was the approval of a unified GCC tourist visa that will be implemented by the end of the year. This decision is expected to streamline travel logistics and make it easier for tourists to explore the diverse offerings of the region.

Emirates Airline also made significant announcements at the ATM, including new partnerships with Tourism Malaysia, Turkiye Tourism Promotion, and the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce. The airline also revealed plans to introduce its new A350 aircraft to nine destinations, starting with Bahrain.

Overall, the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai is not only showcasing the city’s recovery from natural disasters but also highlighting its commitment to innovation and growth in the tourism industry.
