Argentina’s Milei Rocks Out Heavy Metal at Book Launch

Argentine President Javier Milei made headlines once again, this time for his rockstar-like performance at the launch of his latest book. The economist-turned-politician took the stage in Buenos Aires clad in a black leather coat, wild hair flying, and belted out his version of the song “Panic Show” by Argentine band La Renga.

“I’m the king. I’m the lion!” Milei shouted, embodying his fierce persona as a libertarian leader who has been slashing the country’s budget and challenging political norms since taking office in December.

Despite his charismatic performance, critics, including opposition politicians, were quick to condemn Milei for his cavalier attitude, especially as poverty rates have soared to nearly 60% under his administration and layoffs continue to rise.

However, Milei still has a loyal following, with fans praising him for being more than just a traditional politician. “That’s why people love him – he’s a great politician but also a great showman,” said 23-year-old student Leonel Grillo.

The event, which took place at the historic Luna Park venue in Buenos Aires, drew a crowd of 8,000 people who watched Milei perform alongside a party lawmaker on drums and his personal biographer on bass.

After his rockstar moment, the event transitioned into a more traditional book launch for Milei’s latest work, “Capitalism, Socialism and the Neoclassical Trap.” Despite allegations of plagiarism in parts of the text, Milei’s spokesperson denied the reports, ensuring that the controversial president remains in the spotlight.
