Ariane Carnelossi is wearing the damage from her bizarre UFC Vegas 92 outing, as she revealed on social media that she suffered a fractured nose, cheekbone injury, and a blood clot in the sinus region following her disqualification win over Piera Rodriguez.

The strawweight veteran took to Instagram to update her fans on her condition after the fight, thanking everyone for their positive messages and emphasizing the importance of following the rules in combat sports. Carnelossi did not specify if her injuries were a result of the illegal headbutts from Rodriguez, but her manager confirmed that surgery will not be necessary.

The controversial sequence occurred after Rodriguez dominated Carnelossi for the majority of the bout, with the referee issuing a warning for the first headbutt. However, Rodriguez repeated the offense, leading to the immediate halt of the fight and Carnelossi being declared the winner by disqualification.

In a fiery post-fight statement, Rodriguez accused Carnelossi of being a liar and a coward, expressing regret for her actions but also criticizing her opponent’s integrity. This loss marks Rodriguez’s second consecutive defeat in the UFC, while Carnelossi bounces back from a previous loss in May 2022 after a two-year hiatus.

The intense showdown took place at UFC Vegas 92 on May 18 at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, leaving both fighters with a lot to reflect on as they move forward in their careers.
