Singer Arijit Singh recently made headlines during his concert in Dubai when he apologized to Pakistani actor Mahira Khan for not recognizing her at first. A video from the gig went viral on the internet, showing Arijit addressing the audience and acknowledging Mahira’s presence.
In the video, Arijit can be heard saying, “You guys must be surprised, should I reveal? I should reveal in a very nice way. Can we have a camera there? I have been trying to recognize this person, then remembered I have sung for her. Ladies and gentlemen Mahira Khan sitting right in front of me. Think about I was singing her song Zaalima and it’s her song and she was singing and standing and I couldn’t recognize her. I am so sorry ma’am gratitude and thank you so much.”
Mahira Khan, who was wearing an elegant black outfit, graciously waved to the audience. Arijit had lent his vocals to the superhit song ‘Zaalima’ in Mahira Khan’s Bollywood debut film ‘Raees’, which starred Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role.
Mahira Khan is known for her work in Pakistani television series and projects such as ‘Humsafar’, ‘Bin Roye’, ‘Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay’, and ‘Razia’. Last year, she got married for the second time to Pakistani businessman Salim Karim.
