Arlington Heights Senior Center Hosts National Senior Health & Fitness Day Celebration

The Arlington Heights Senior Center is gearing up to celebrate National Senior Health & Fitness Day on May 29, joining over 1,000 local groups across the country in promoting healthy lifestyles for older adults. This year marks the 31st Annual National Senior Health & Fitness Day, and the Arlington Heights Senior Center is pulling out all the stops to make it a memorable event.

The free health expo at the Arlington Heights Senior Center will feature a variety of activities, health screenings, exercise classes, yoga sessions, Assitive Technology demos, and a keynote presentation by artist Denise Laurin titled “The Adventure of a Lifetime: Living Long and Large.” Patricia Henze, the National Senior Health & Fitness Day program manager, emphasizes the importance of regular exercise for older adults and encourages everyone to take advantage of the health and fitness activities available in their communities.

Sarah Adelphia, the program coordinator at the Arlington Heights Senior Center, is excited about the upcoming celebration and sees it as a great opportunity for patrons to renew their commitment to living healthier lives. The event will take place at the Arlington Heights Senior Center located at 1801 W. Central Road in Arlington Heights and is open to all ages. The first 200 guests will receive free tote bags, and all participants will be entered into a drawing for a free gift basket.
