Arman Tsarukyan and Diego Lopes are facing potential discipline after their actions at UFC 300 in Las Vegas caught the attention of the Nevada State Athletic Commission. During a meeting on Tuesday, it was revealed that both fighters had money withheld from their purses pending a full disciplinary hearing in May.
Tsarukyan, who earned $158,000 for his win over Charles Oliveira, had $31,600 withheld after getting into an altercation with a fan on his way to the octagon. The fan chose not to press charges, but Tsarukyan admitted to throwing a punch after being flipped off.
Lopes, on the other hand, earned $100,000 for his knockout win over Sodiq Yusuff but had $5,000 withheld for jumping into the crowd after the fight. Despite being advised not to do so, Lopes climbed on top of the cage and motioned to UFC CEO Dana White about jumping outside the octagon.
The Nevada Commission has decided to keep the withheld funds until the disciplinary hearings in May. They have also requested video evidence of the altercations to review before making any decisions on potential punishments.
Both fighters will have to wait until May to learn their fate, as the commission takes these incidents seriously and wants to ensure a fair and thorough review process. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
