Wesley Arrington Throws No-Hitter as Lynchburg Defeats Randolph-Macon 5-0

In a stunning display of pitching prowess, University of Lynchburg baseball graduate student Wesley Arrington threw a no-hitter against Randolph-Macon, leading the Hornets to a 5-0 victory in the first game of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference championship weekend.

Arrington, who emerged as Lynchburg’s ace throughout the season, faced the Yellow Jackets for the first time this year and delivered a dominant performance. Despite some early scoring opportunities for Randolph-Macon, Arrington shut down their offense with nine strikeouts throughout the game.

The Hornets took the lead in the third inning and never looked back, with key plays from Benton Jones, Logan Webster, and O’Kelly McWilliams IV contributing to the victory. Arrington’s teammates rallied around him as he completed his second complete game in the postseason, capping off an impressive performance.

This no-hitter marked Arrington’s fourth postseason win in his ninth postseason appearance, solidifying his reputation as a standout pitcher in crucial games. Lynchburg’s offense also shined, with contributions from McWilliams IV, Gavin Collins, and Quinn Madden helping to secure the win.

As Lynchburg advances to face the winner of Roanoke and Shenandoah in the next round, Arrington’s stellar performance has set the tone for a successful championship weekend for the Hornets.
