Arseneault and Bennett progress to the second round of the NCAA Doubles Championship

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Auburn’s dynamic doubles team of Ariana Arseneault and DJ Bennett kicked off their NCAA Doubles Championship campaign with a thrilling victory over UCLA’s Fangran Tian and Elise Wagle in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The 15th-ranked Auburn duo showcased their skills and determination as they battled to a 7-6 (3), 7-5 win in a late-night match that ended at 10 p.m.

Interim head coach Lester Cook praised Arseneault and Bennett for their smart and competitive performance against a tough UCLA team. The duo’s strategic play and resilience paid off as they secured their 11th victory of the season and advanced to the round of 16.

While Arseneault and Bennett celebrated their success, Auburn’s Carolyn Ansari faced a tough loss in the NCAA Singles Championship, ending her impressive season with a 21-13 record. Ansari, a senior, leaves behind a legacy of 100 career singles victories, ranking fourth in program history.

Next up for Arseneault and Bennett is a challenging match against Pepperdine’s Janice Tjen and Savannah Broadus in the round of 16. The Auburn duo will look to avenge their previous loss to Tjen and Broadus in a dual match earlier this season.
