In a thrilling day of baseball action, several teams showcased their skills and determination on the field. Champaign Central secured a 7-3 victory over Metamora, with standout performances from Luke McClure, T.J. Pipkins, Patrick Kennedy, John Timmons, and Sam McArthur. McArthur not only excelled at the plate but also pitched five solid innings with seven strikeouts.

Meanwhile, Mahomet-Seymour dominated Mt. Zion in a doubleheader, with Mason Orton delivering a complete-game two-hitter in the first game. Cam Heinhold and Gavin Bailey led the offensive charge in the second game, helping the Bulldogs clinch the Apollo Conference title for the third consecutive year.

In other matchups, Normal U-High edged out Unity 7-5, Rantoul cruised to a 15-4 victory over Decatur MacArthur, and St. Joseph-Ogden reached a milestone with their 30th win of the season by defeating Salt Fork 15-5.

On the softball diamond, Fisher emerged victorious in two games, defeating El Paso-Gridley 12-2 and Fieldcrest 5-1. LeRoy showcased their dominance with a 15-5 win over Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley, while Pinckneyville handed Unity a 6-1 loss.

In girls’ soccer, Arthur Christian claimed a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Victory Christian Academy in the Midwest Christian School Championship final, with Brileigh Mast scoring the decisive goal in golden goal overtime. The Conquering Riders displayed resilience and skill throughout the tournament, culminating in a well-deserved championship win.
