The reports, titled “Responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI): Overview of AI Risks, Safety & Governance” and “Artificial Intelligence (AI): Global Strategies, Policies & Regulations,” emphasize the importance of prioritizing safety, ethical considerations, and responsible AI adoption in the digital future of the industry.
Launched during the UN General Assembly in New York, these reports mark significant milestones in WTTC’s mission to promote innovation and excellence in customer experiences through the integration of AI. The “Responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI)” report explores the potential risks associated with AI deployment and offers strategies for establishing frameworks that promote transparency, accountability, and fairness.
In the final report, “Artificial Intelligence (AI): Global Strategies, Policies & Regulations,” WTTC provides an overview of the AI ecosystem across key countries and international organizations, showcasing how policymakers are navigating the AI landscape to foster innovation while ensuring ethical and responsible use.
Julia Simpson, WTTC President & CEO, emphasized the positive impact of AI on the sector, citing examples of major hotel groups using AI to reduce food waste and drive cost savings. Microsoft’s Julie Shainock highlighted the widespread adoption of AI in the travel ecosystem, enhancing customer and employee experiences while driving operational efficiency.
