Arts and Entertainment Updates in the Helena Area

The Helena Symphony is set to perform Tchaikovsky’s “Swan Lake & Cavalleria Rusticana” on Saturday, May 4, at the Helena Civic Center. Maestro Allan R. Scott describes Tchaikovsky as a legendary composer known for his works in opera and ballet, including Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, and The Nutcracker.

Tickets for the concert range from $65 to $20, with a $5 transaction fee. The performance will showcase the timeless tale of love and transformation in Swan Lake, followed by Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana, a tragic story of betrayal and jealousy.

In other music news, Musikanten Montana is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a cello and organ recital featuring Sarah Stone and Keith Reas on May 9 at St. Peter’s Episcopal Cathedral. The event will include works by Bach, Vivaldi, and other Italian Baroque composers.

Additionally, Moms for America founder Kimberly Fletcher will speak at the East Helena Canyon Ferry Baptist Church on May 9, sharing her mission to empower mothers and educate them on liberty and the Constitution.

For art enthusiasts, the Archie Bray Artist Amplified event at Mt. Ascension Brewing Co. on May 2 will feature the Bray’s resident artists sharing their work. Queen City Framing & Art Supplies will host an artist reception for Emory Padgett’s “Moonscapes” exhibit on May 3.
