Raven’s Feather Productions is set to stage their inaugural show for 2024 at the Helena Avenue Theatre. The play, “What Happened While Hero Was Dead,” written by Meghan Brown, will be performed from May 9-11 and May 16-18 at 7:30 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.

This modern twist on Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing” gives Hero, traditionally a passive character, a vivacious personality and agency. The play contains adult language and sexual situations, making it unsuitable for younger audiences.

Tickets for the show are priced at $20 for general admission and $15 for students and seniors. They can be purchased online at www.ravensfeather.org/tickets.

In addition to the play, an acting class led by renowned Montana theatre artist Bruce Hall is upcoming at the Helena Avenue Theatre. Titled “Acting Shmacting,” the course is tailored for individuals aged 16 and above with no prior experience necessary. Participants will explore acting through monologues, scene work, and emotion-driven improv.

The course runs for seven sessions from May 21 to July 2, every Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at HAT. The cost is $175, offering students an opportunity to enhance their performance and life skills affordably. To register, visit www.montanaplaywrights.org.
