The City of Arvada Seeks Community Input for Naming New Park
Arvada, CO – A park near the Red Rocks Community College Arvada campus is set to open soon, but it won’t be called Holistic Health and Wellness Park as originally planned. The City of Arvada is reaching out to the community for suggestions to determine the permanent name for the park.
Residents can submit their name ideas at speakup.arvadaco.gov or on the project webpage at arvadaco.gov/holisticpark until May 31. The Arvada Park Advisory Committee will then present a shortlist of finalists to the City Council on June 17, with the official name being decided on July 1.
“We’re excited to involve the community in naming Arvada’s newest park,” said Sean Star, Arvada’s Communications Manager for Vibrant Community and Neighborhoods. Last year, the community named Little Raven Park to honor the area’s indigenous heritage.
The park, located at 10275 West 55th Avenue, is a partnership between the City of Arvada and Red Rocks Community College. It will focus on whole-body health and offer various recreational and educational opportunities for people of all ages and abilities.
Arvada’s Director of Vibrant Community and Neighborhood, Enessa Janes, highlighted the park’s unique features at a recent city council meeting. The park is designed to provide spaces for outdoor recreation, fitness classes, yoga, reflexology, and cardio exercises.
The park is expected to open in mid to late July, providing a new outdoor space for residents to exercise, meditate, and learn about health and fitness. Get involved in naming the park and be a part of shaping Arvada’s vibrant community.
