Aryna Sabalenka takes a step back after Jannik Sinner’s unusual celebration

Aryna Sabalenka, a top-ranked tennis player, recently sparked controversy with her comments about watching tennis matches. Sabalenka admitted that she prefers to watch men’s matches over women’s matches, which raised eyebrows among fans and players alike.

During a press conference at the Madrid Masters, Sabalenka explained her preference by stating that she plays on the WTA tour and often faces her opponents on the court. She emphasized that watching her opponents before matches is part of her job, which is why she tends to watch more men’s matches in her free time.

Sabalenka clarified, “I didn’t want to damage women’s tennis. We are doing our best, and there are lots of great matches. I just find it more fun to watch the men play because I spend a lot of time studying my opponents.”

In contrast, rising star Jannik Sinner shared a quirky tradition of celebrating good performances with hamburgers. The Italian player revealed that after a successful week of playing tennis, he and his team indulge in hamburgers as a way to celebrate. Sinner even mentioned his favorite hamburger joint, Firebirds, in the United States.

Sinner explained, “I have this thing that when we have a good week we always eat a hamburger. Honestly, the one in Australia was really good. In America, there are some good places too. In Cincinnati, Firebirds has a really good hamburger.”

While Sabalenka’s comments may have stirred up some controversy, Sinner’s love for hamburgers adds a light-hearted touch to the world of professional tennis. Both players continue to make headlines on and off the court with their unique perspectives and traditions.
