Reading Time: < 1 minute

Veteran actor Ashutosh Rana, known for his powerful performances in films like “Dushman” and “Sarfarosh”, believes that his acting career is still in its early stages despite being in the industry for over three decades. The 56-year-old actor expressed his excitement about the changing landscape of cinema, where the lines between mainstream and off-beat films have blurred.

Rana, who is currently headlining the OTT show “Murder in Mahim”, shared his aspirations to play a variety of characters on screen, ranging from heroic to villainous roles. He mentioned his desire to portray iconic characters like Chanakya, Raavan, Vivekanand, and Krishna, showcasing his versatility as an actor.

The actor emphasized the importance of honesty in his portrayals, stating that his primary goal is to capture the thought process and persona of each character he plays. Rana credited the audience for appreciating his work and promoting him based on the honest portrayal of his roles.

“Muder in Mahim”, adapted from a book by author Jerry Pinto, is an investigative drama series that delves into a chilling murder mystery in Mumbai. Rana plays the lead role of Peter, a character who reconciles a lost friendship with Jende, portrayed by Vijay Raaz.

Despite the responsibility of headlining a show, Rana expressed his pleasure in taking on the role and emphasized the importance of not reading the book before portraying the character. The show, released on JioCinema, explores the underbelly of Mumbai and the complexities of human relationships, making it a must-watch for fans of gripping crime dramas.
