Aspen Ladd remains uncertain about PFL-Bellator’s intentions for women’s featherweight division

Aspen Ladd, a UFC veteran, was thrilled to sign with the PFL and compete for the chance to win a $1 million grand prize. However, her excitement turned to disappointment when the PFL decided to drop the women’s featherweight division in favor of introducing a women’s flyweight season instead.

Ladd expressed her disappointment with the decision, stating that she was used to the season-long format and was looking forward to competing in it again. Despite the change, she remains focused on taking each fight as it comes and seeing where it leads.

At Bellator Paris, Ladd will face Ekaterina Shakalova, a promising 8-1 prospect. While Ladd is unsure of what the future holds beyond this fight, she is eager to see how the division evolves with the addition of new fighters.

There have been talks of a potential “champion vs. champion” fight between PFL’s Larissa Pacheco and Bellator’s Cris Cyborg, but nothing has been confirmed yet. Ladd is curious about the future of the division and whether there will be one unified belt for both organizations or separate championships.

Despite the uncertainty, Ladd remains hopeful that the PFL will consider returning to the season format for the featherweights in the future. She believes that this format would provide her with more opportunities to compete and potentially win the grand prize.

As Ladd prepares for her upcoming fight, she is ready to adapt to the changes thrown her way and make the most of the opportunities that come her way.
