Ubisoft’s highly anticipated game, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, has finally unveiled its official cinematic world premiere trailer, showcasing two intriguing protagonists and a stunning 16th-century Japanese setting. The game, set to release on November 15, 2024, on multiple platforms including PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, introduces players to Yasuke, the historical black samurai, and Naoe, a Japanese shinobi.
In a supplemental explainer video, game director Charles Benoit and associate narrative director Brook Davies shed light on the unique playstyles of the two characters. Yasuke excels in upfront combat and brute strength, while Naoe is more stealth-focused, offering players a diverse gameplay experience.
The inclusion of Yasuke as a main protagonist marks a significant departure for the Assassin’s Creed series, as Ubisoft typically features fictional characters. The trailer also teased the presence of other historical figures, such as Fujibayashi Nagato, a notable shinobi from the Iga Province who plays a key role in Naoe’s story.
Ubisoft’s decision to rename the game from Assassin’s Creed Codename Red to Assassin’s Creed Shadows has generated excitement among fans, who can expect more details about the gameplay at the upcoming Ubisoft Forward event on June 10. Alongside Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Ubisoft is also expected to reveal information about the highly anticipated open-world game, Star Wars Outlaws.
With its captivating setting, diverse characters, and promise of immersive gameplay, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is shaping up to be a must-play title for fans of the franchise and newcomers alike. Stay tuned for more updates as the release date approaches.
